About:China Student Visa

Will student visa void tourist type?

I'm from the US and have a multi entry Chinese tourist L type that is valid for 10yrs, will getting a student x2 type cancel out (void) my tourist type? I ask because this apparently happened to a classmate of mine but he is from Canada. Is it not possible to hold both?

Michael, I'm afraid you can't hold both. If you apply for the X2 type, your L type will be voided.
