is it still possible to walk on the wall from jinshanling to simatai?

I have found conflicting information online....is this section now open or closed?Also, which direction is best to walk? East gate to West gate? or vice versa? I'm thinking about photography, position of sun etc

My friends hiked for the route last Sep. so it should be ok to trek. Some sections between them are dangerous and the two sections of walls charge separately. If you are afraid of geting lost, ask a local citizen to guide you once upon arriving at JSL Section. But I am not clear about the detailed directions. Hope you can search for more info online.

Is it still possible to walk on the wall from Jinshanling to Simatai? We are visiting on Monday.
