About:Tianjin Transportation

We will be visiting Xingang on a cruise in February 2017.

Our intention is to travel from the port and spend the night in Beijing returning the following afternoon.
We are familiar with Beijing and have used the bullet train before (although not on this route). The problem seems to be getting from the port to the train station. We would very much appreciate any help/advice anyone can give us on this.

Do you wanna know the transportation from Tianjin International Cruise Home Port to the railway station?
If yes, you are advised to take the high-speed train from Main Railway Station and arrive at Beijing South Railway Station. Thus from the port, you can take bus no.513 to Civic Square. Then take metro line 9 to the railway station directly.

Hi Victoria,
Thank you so much for taking the time to reply to my query. I hope you don't mind my picking your brain a little more !
1. What is it like catching the bus bearing in mind we speak no Chinese. We are familiar with the subway system in Beijing, and frequently suggest it to friends as being very user friendly.
d metro.
3. Any idea what a taxi would cost, and how easy is it to get a taxi at the port. Do the taxis use meters or do you have to bargain.
4. I'm presuming that you have actually done this by bus and metro..What was your experience like. Was it easy, difficult, frustrating. And knowing what you know now would that still be your preferred way.

Thank you so much
Best Regards

Dear Bill, bus line 513 is closed these days. You may take a taxi to Civic Square from the port for about CNY 15. Then, take metro line 9 to Main Railway Station.

Or, you can take a taxi to the Main Railway Station from the port directly. The fare may be around CNY 150. It is easy to catch a taxi there. Don't worry! You can ask the driver to use meter, and then pay as the meter shows.

I took the bus and metro last year. The bus stops were reported only in Chinese, but there were English signs inside the metro stations. You are advised to take a taxi directly. :)
