American living in Austria

I am an American and will be living in Austria for 8 months this next year. My sister is studying abroad in China and I am planning on visiting her over Christmas break. Am I able to obtain a travel visa for myself in Austria? And how would I go about doing that?

Whitney, you are able to apply for a visa for PRC when you are in Austria. You can apply for a tourist L type to visit your sister.
The first thing is to prepare those documents including the application form, a passport-sized color photo, your residence permit in Austria, and an invitation letter from your sister. Next thing is to hand in the application to the embassy of PRC to apply for the L type.
