About:China Transit Visa

Hi, I am flying from Vienna to Jakarta via Beijing. But from Beijing I have stop-over in Xiamen.

(1) Do I get that right that even with stop-over in mainland China I can use 24-hour visa free transit and I don't need anything else?
(2) Can I still visit Beijing with that?

1. Daniel, if your total stopover time in Beijing and Xiamen is less than 24 hours, you can enjoy the 24 hour direct transit. Otherwise, a transit G type or tourist L type is needed.
2. You can apply for a temporary stay permit at Beijing airport and then you can go to the city for a visit.
