About:China Visa Exemption

Arriving in Shanghai on cruise

Hello, we are ending our cruise in Shanghai, will get transfer directly to the airport and get our flight back to USA within 12 hours. Do we need a visa or will we be covered under the direct transit rule. Thanks.
