Travelling to New Zealand from India , having an Indian passport.

Hello,
I am Travelling to New Zealand from India having Indian passport. I have applied for NZ tourist visa and by layover time is 4 hours in Kunming and 14 hours in Shanghai. Do i need to apply for any transit permit from India before i go there? I intend not to leave the Chinese Airport. I am travelling in China Eastern airlines. Please advise me as i don't want any hassle once i arrive in China. I want to get through the immigration procedure.

I would like to add that i would be returning back to India in the same route I will go to NZ. I will stay in NZ for 3 weeks. Please advise
