About:China Visa Application in UK

Is there any difference in cost or procedure for a UK citizen to obtain 3 month or 12 month visa?

From the table on this page it seems as though, for a UK, US or Canadian citizen, you might as well get a multiple entry 12 month permit as the cost is just the same as a single entry 3 month one? Thanks in advance

Yes, the cost for all types are the same. So you might as well apply for a 12-month or 24-month multiple-entry permit.

OK that's great. 3 things though:
I've only seen up to multiple entries over 12 months, not 24 months mentioned anywhere. Is 24 months possible? And if so, how do I apply for it?
The second thing is, will I need to provide evidence of travel details for each of the multiple entries or just the first one (i.e. the only one for now:D)
If I just want the maximum allowable period, which of the boxes should I tick - single entry, multiple entry over 12 months, or other and specify this?
Thanks very much for your help
