About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Can I use 144 hour free visa

Traveling from USA to Japan, then I am considering flying into Shanghai, staying for a day or two, taking train to Beijing, stay for a day or two before we take fight from Bejing back to USA.

John, if you travel like that, you cannot enjoy the 144 hour free transit. You should apply for a transit G type or tourist L type ahead of time for your travel.
