About:Hong Kong Visa Application

I'm an Indonesia national and my work visa will expire on September 6th,

However I need to stay in HK for another 10 days because I'll leave for the UK from HK (Sep 16).
Is there a way for me to reenter HK without entry permit (Indonesia has 30-days free option to stay in HK) right after my work entry permit expired without actually leaving HK for another country (i.e. HK-indonesia-HK)?

Lee, you can re-enter HK and stay for another 10 days. You don’t need to apply for any entry permit because you are allowed to enter HK freely for a stay of no more than 30 days. You just need to take your passport, the onward ticket and enough travel fees.

You can go to Macau first after your work entry permit expires, and then you can re-enter HK from Macau.

Can I do that before my work permit expires (before September 6) and reenter without the entry permit (hence the 30-day free entry will counts at that period)? Can I leave and reenter via the Ferry?
