How to change Z visa into S1 type without Exit China

Hi,
I have been working in China over last 5 years with Z type. I'm planing to quit my job now and want to apply for S1 type. My wife is holding Z type now.
Is it possible to change my Z type into S1 type without going back to my country?

It’s possible for you to change Z type to S1 type without leaving PRC. You should first prepare these documents: your passport, the application form attached with a passport-sized color photo, valid registration form of temporary residence, an invitation letter from your wife and copies of her passport and residence permit, and your marriage certificate. Next step is to submit the application to the exit and entry administration of the local PSB to change the Z type to S1 type.
