Can we apply for 72 hour TWOV or are we required to get a standard visa for this purpose?

Our Grand Asia cruise will end in Tianjin. We'll disembark in Tianjin seaport in the morning. We wanted to join the Forbidden city tour and stay overnight in a hotel in Beijing. Our flight out of the city at Beijing Airport will be in the afternoon of the next day.

Rene, you cannot enjoy the 72 hour free transit if you travel like that. You need to apply for a tourist L type in advance for your journey.
