About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

From Taiwan, pass thru Hong Kong then Beijig, then Taiwan. Can I use the 72-hrs free visa?

I want to fly to Beijing from Taiwan, then back to Taiwan. However, the airplane from Taiwan on the way to Beijing will stop in Hong Kong for 7 hours (Hong Kong airlines), then I will fly from Beijing to Taiwan. Will that stopover qualify for the 72 hour free transit? Thanks for reading
