About:China Visa Renewal and Extension

180 days single entry X2 type - possible to extend?

Hey,
So I'm headed to China for one term studies abroad and a bit unsure about the new visa regulations. Do you know if it will be possible to extend my X type at the end of the 180 days for anther 30 days? I was in PRC 2013/14 with a X1 type and there was no problem with that, but not sure how it works with the X2... Thanks a lot!

If you cannot get the relevant documents from the school, you cannot extend it for another 30 days. But don’t worry! You can change the student X2 type to tourist L type after it expires. In this case, it’s possible for you to stay for another 30 days in PRC.
