Time of the trip from Beijing

Hello,
I will be visiting soon and I would really like to see the dam with the dragon escalator.
In one vlog I have read that the place is reachable by bus in one hour from the city, but when I insert the directions into googlemaps, I get a trip of 5 hours by bus around 2 hours by car.
Is it really that long?
I can read here that it is possible to arrive there with a combination of train plus bus, is that faster?
Can the trip to the dam be done in one day from the city?

Thank you very much!

It is about 62 miles (100km) from the city proper. It takes about 1.5 hours by car, and about 2 hours by bus.

You can take bus line 919 Express from Deshengmen to Shi He Ying Station. Then, change to bus line Y15 to it. The trip takes about 2 hours.

Or, you can take S2 Train from North Railway Station to Yanqing (about 1.5 hours). Upon arrival, take bus line Y15 or Y40 to it (about 40 minutes).

Yes, you can make a day trip if you set off early in the morning. :)

Thank you, but I cannot find anywhere online buses Y15 or Y40. There are no buses with letters.
I will manage somehow.
Thanks again
