About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I am a UK passport holder and will fly from Spain to Shanghai

I am a UK passport holder and will fly from Spain to Shanghai and then stay 5 days before flying to Thailand with tickets confirmed. Reading the information I think I am eligible for the 144 hr visa . Can you confirm I am correct please
