About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

I am planning a trip from the United States to Shanghai for 2 days

then flying to Nagasaki Japan then back to the United States do i need a Visa and if not what if anything do I need to do when I arrive.. thank you

David, you don’t need to apply for an entry permit because you can enjoy the free transit in Shanghai. You need to inform the carrier that you want to use the 144 hour free transit in Shanghai before you board the plane. After arrival, you should go to the 144 hour counter to apply for the free transit.
