3 days are not enough to cover all the places you mentioned above. On the first day, you may visit Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City and Temple of Heaven. Visit the Great Wall on the second day and have a stopover at Bird's Nest & Water Cube on the way back. It needs another full day to see Shihua Cave in Fangshan District. Then visit 798 Art Disctict and China National Film Museum on the last day. As for the accommodation, you are suggested to stay at a hotel in downtown area, like Wangfujing area, Houhai area, etc. The transportation in BJ is convenient, so it is easy for you to explore the city by subway or taxi.

Hello,
Thank you for the prompt response.
Yes, I understand 3 days are less to complete all of it, hence want your guidance on what to club on what days.
Is Shihua Cave very remote? Which one would you suggest - Shihua or Jingdong Karst Cave?

I have managed to find a hotel in Dongcheng, what would be the best mode of travel to all the places I had mentioned before?

Also, after Beijing, I wish to move to Zhanjiajie, could you please help me with the best more of travel (bullet train/domestic flight) on 12th August - midday or early evening?

Thanks a lot!

Dear Angela,

One more question, please suggest some places for shopping in Beijing - clothes, accessories, apparels.
Also what would be the best time to visit them? Would evenings be okay?

Thanks

Shihua Cave is located in Fangshan District, about 50 kilometers away from BJ city. Shihua Cave and Jingdong Cave are all karst caves with similar features, but I personally prefer Shihua Cave. Subway, bus and taxi are all good ways for transportation to each place. From Beijing to Zhangjiajie, you may choose to take direct flight or train. The flights depart at 06:45 and 19:10 from BJ. Or, you can fly from BJ to Changsha or Changde first and then transfer to ZJJ. As for shopping in BJ, you are suggested to go to Xiushui Market, Qianmen Street, Hongqiao Pearl Market or some other big shopping malls or department stores. You can visit these places in the daytime or evening.

Hello Angela,

Thanks for your response.

Okay in the Hunan province, I wish to visit Zhajiajie and Shinizhuai brave men's bridge... I believe its 6 hours apart. Is there a bullet train from Beijing to Shinizhuai or between Zhajiajie and Shinizhuai.

I am traveling alone and don't speak Chinese, so looking for the safest options to travel.

Thanks

There is no bullet train between Beijing and Zhangjiajie or Shiniuzhai. The ordinary train ride from BJ to ZJJ takes around 23 hours to 26.5 hours. You may take train to ZJJ. But since you do not speak any Chinese, I think flight is a better option for you. There is no train between ZJJ and Shiniuzhai, the only way is to take bus to Yueyang, from where you can take bus to Pingjiang and then change to another bus to Shiniuzhai.
