About:Chinese Embassy in Romania

Can I apply for a Chinese Visa in Romania as an Australian citizen on a tourist visa.

The documents for a Chinese tourist type (L) lists a Romanian Resident Permit as being required for citizens of other countries.
I have been away from Australia for 6 months and been in Romania for the last month as a tourist.
Can I apply to the PRC embassy in Bucharest for a Chinese tourist L type as a non Romanian resident?
I have all the other required documentation.

Brian, usually, if you don’t have residence permit there, I’m afraid it’s difficult to apply from there. But anyway, you can have a try. If it cannot be done, you should go back to your home country to apply for it.

I am getting a different answer from someone in Romania that has Embassy contacts.
I would like to hear from someone that has first hand experience, do you have any experience with dealing with the Chinese Embassy in Romania Michele ?
