can i travel on a tourist l type to collect a business award on behalf of my employer.

Question

The awarding body is hosting the awards ceremony at the Hyatt Bund hotel in Shanghai.I will be travelling on the 21st September 2016 and returning on the 24th September 2016.No business activities will be completed only the attendance at the ceremony and the collection of the award on stage.Do I need an invitation letter from the awarding body for the event for my visa?Thank you

Gill, you can travel on a tourist L type to do that. The invitation is not necessary, but if you can get the invitation letter, you don’t need to provide round trip air tickets and hotel reservation.
