30min's break for transfer in guangzhou south station

Question

I am thinking about Shenzhen-Guangzhou-Guilin trip. Is 30min enough to catch the next train to Guilin? Do I need to go through the security check again or I can go from arrival platform to the other one directly?

Personally speaking, I think 30min is a little limited. If you are familiar with the layout, it should be no problem. If you have heavy luggage with you or travel with child, it would be better to have a little longer time like 45min or 1 hour to avoid a rush. You cannot go directly from one platform to another one, but I heard there is a transfer passage and you can get to the departure floor from there. You may try to find it.
