NZ passport travel to China

I want to visit my family members in PRC, my plan for staying in PRC is less than 3 months. Which visa should I apply for?

If your family members are foreigners who has residence permit in PRC, you can apply for an S2 type to go there which may allow you to stay there for less than 180 days.
Or you can just apply for a tourist L type which may allow you to stay there for less than 3 months there.
