About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

NZ -> CAN -> CGO -> LUX available?

Hello, would the following route be available for the 240 h visa free transit with the new rules (i have a French passport):

1. Auckland, New Zealand → Guangzhou (Canton Baiyun) – layover 28h (going out of the airport to visit)
2. Guangzhou → Zhengzhou (Xinzheng) – layover 2h30 at the airport
3. Zhengzhou → Luxembourg

If yes, all I have to do is ask for my visa when I arrive in Guangzhou before exiting the airport that’s right? Thank you 🙏🏻

Camille, you should not bother yourself with old and new rules and with 240 hour visa free transit stuff, since French citizens can travel to China absolutely visa free for up to 30 days. In other words, French citizens can travel to China in the same way as they do to, for example, UK. In other words, you are good to go regardless of the eligibility of your presented itinerary. It is true, however, that your itinerary would be eligible for 240 hour visa free transit, but you should keep it for somebody that does not have absolute visa free entry to China as you have. Have a nice visit to China.
