What currency should we bring?

I understand the tour is in USD but for our expenses, food, extra tours, etc. should we bring Chinese Yuan or USD or even CAD. Plus should we use travellers checks and are there fees to change travellers checks or can we just change them in hotel for free?

You are advised to bring some Chinese Yuan during the trip. The cash will be needed at small shops or the restaurants. Besides, you may consider taking your credit card which is more convenient and widely used, most of the hotels, shopping malls and some high-end restaurants in China could accept credit cards. And you could also draw and exchange money at banks. For the travellers checks, they are accepted in the major banks in China and only some high-end hotels and large-scale emporiums accept traveler's check.
