About:China Train

Does anybody know what a hard seat on a long distance train is?

Is it literally a hard seat? Please answer thank you.

The seat is upholstered but not comfortable for long trips like overnight trips. The space is narrow, I guess around 40cm wide. Three people or two people sit in one row. It would not be an enjoyable trip if you sit there still for a whole night. You may check some photos on this website.
