Leaving airport without visa during 8 hours layover

I´m a Filipino national and will have 8 hours layover in Beijing on flight route Manila - Beijing - Frankfurt. Is it possible to leave the airport for sightseeing without entry permit?

Hello there! You can make use of the 24 hour direct transit in Beijing, so you can leave the airport for sightseeing without entry permit, but you need to apply for a free temporary stay permit at the immigration counter upon arrival.
