Guangzhou entry and exit within 24 hours

Hi, we are 2 New Zealanders flying AKL-BAR with an 8 hour stopover in Guangzhou, then 2 weeks later returning to AKL with another 8 hour stop over in Guangzhou. Can we leave the airport to look around, our luggage will be booked all the way to our destinations. Do we need to apply for an entry visa?

Hi there! You don’t need to apply for an entry permit because you are eligible for the 24 hour direct transit in Guangzhou. You just need to apply for a temporary stay permit which is free of charge at the airport and then you can leave the airport to look around.
