I arrive in the afternoon/evening by bullet train to Xiamen on 17/10.

If you are going to visit the Tulou, I recommend you the TIanluokeng typical one. Most Tulou sires cannot be easily accessed by public transportation, so we suggest you join a one-day trip package to the Tulou. You can go to Hubin Bus Station, where you can surely get bus and tour to Tianluokeng.

Then you can take an early boat from Dongdu Port to Gulangyu, and return to the city early. Spare two or three hours for Jimei area sightseeing.

For hotels, you are advised to live in Zhongshan Road, which is a very bustling street clustered with restaurants and hotels. You can easily find a decent hotel on that street.

But I have a whole day to see the tulou, isn't there a more wide itinerary? Also I have a whole day to see the city and Gulang Yu. On the same day can I see the city, Gulang Yu and Kinmen (金门)?

Apart from Tianluokeng Tulou in Shuyang Town, Nanjing County, you can also go to see the nearby Yuchang Tower and Taxia Village. Or, you can do a one day tour to see Chengqi Tower, Qiaofu Tower, Wuyun Tower, and Shize Tower in Gaobei Village, Gaotou Town, Yongding County.

Well, you are advised to spare two or three days to cover the city, Gulangyu and Kinmen. May you have a nice trip! :)

Yes! Kinmen is well worth a visit. There are many interesting attractions, like Juguang Tower, Kinmen Folk Culture Village, and Kinmen National Park. Have fun!

Yes, you can take a bullet train from Guangzhou South to the North Railway Station. The trip takes about 4 hours. :)
