obtaining s1 with only z

Question

Hi,My wife and I want to travel together to China. I will have a Z visa and I my wife would have a S1 type. My question is in order to obtain the S1 type for my wife, do I need to enter China first without her and obtain my Temporary Residence Permit? Is there any way of obtaining my Residence Permit without travelling to China first?

David, you don’t need to enter PRC first. Your wife can apply for the S1 type along with your application for work Z type. When applying for the S1 type, your wife can submit all the required documents and the application documents for your work Z type. In this case, you two can apply for it at the same time.
