About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Transit outbound or inbound

Hi, I hold a UK passport and want to go to Chengdu for 72 hours. The plan is to go London - Chengdu (stay 72 hours), Chengdu - Hong Kong, Hong Kong to London. Is it possible to do it the other way around? London - Hong Kong, Hong Kong to Chengdu (stay 72 hours), Chengdu - London? I think it is not, but cannot find anything clarifying this. Many thanks

Grace, you are eligible for the 72 hour free transit in Chengdu no matter which travel route you will take: London-Chengdu-HK-London, or London-HK-Chengdu-London. Both travel routes can allow you to enjoy the free transit in Chengdu as long as your layover time in Chengdu is less than 72 hours.
