Tourist Visa L

I am planning to travel to Shanghai from Guam (U.S. Territory).
My family (all US Passport Holders) will travel as tourists to Disneyland for 2-3 days and maybe a 4th day for sightseeing.
Do I still need to get a Tourist L type?
What do I need to do

Hi Tricia, if all of you will travel to Shanghai from Guam and then travel onward to a third country or region, you can enjoy the free transit policy in Shanghai. This policy will allow you to stay in Shanghai for up to six days!

So....in order to travel to Shanghai...we will go through Japan (Transit)
Guam - Osaka - Shanghai
on the way back...we plan to stay in Osaka before going back to Guam....does this count?

Or should we go
Guam - Narita/Tokyo - Shanghai
Shanghai - Osaka - Guam
Still through Japan, but different airports....
Please advise.

Well, if you come through Japan and go back through Japan as well, I'm afraid you can't use the 144-hour free transit policy. You are advised to stop over in another country on your way back.
