144 hour visa - Seoul, Shanghai, London

Hi, looking to travel from Seoul to Shanghai, and then hangzhou to London. My flight from hangzhou requires a transit back via Seoul for approximately 12 hours. Will I be denied a 144 hour free transit on What's the difference between " happy " and " content "
? as my flight out of China will pass through the country I came from originally?

Jon, because you will fly back to Seoul after stopping in Shanghai, even though it’s just a transit, you cannot enjoy the 144 hour free transit in PRC. I’m afraid you need to apply for a tourist L typr for your travel.

Karen, thank you for your message. I now have a flight that will work, however from what i understand the 144 hour begins from 00:00 (midnight) the next day, correct? Therefore you may have a little longer than 6 days if timing works out. For example, i fly into Shanghai on 1 november at 13:00, however my visa will not be activated until 00:00 on 2 November, giving me until Nov 7th in which is the date i would have to fly out to a third country.

Jon, what you said is correct. Actually, you can stay longer than 6 days because the 144 hours start from 00:00 (midnight) the next day.
