Soft sleeper from Beijing to Xian

Is it a good idea to book soft sleeper going from Beijing to Xian 19'th of october in advance - or can I wait until a few days before?

If your schedule fixed, you can book them in advance and no more worry about the ticket. If you decide to buy it only a few days before departure, you can check the availability online often.
