And how can I break it up when travelling in China? Thanks in advance.

You don't need to break it up. According to the rules, one can take CNY20,000 cash at most into CN. Taking CNY10,000 won't be a problem.

Maybe you need 1 RMB or 5RMB smaller. Just can go to some retail stores or fast food restaurant in airport, buy some food and get some small changes.
