About:Hong Kong Visa Policy

travelling from hong kong

i am planning to spend 2 weeks travelling in china, starting from hong kong. when i apply for my visa, do i list the start date as when i arrive there or when i leave hong kong (as i don't need an entry permit to enter HK in the first place)
