About:Chinese Embassy in Peru

Hello, I am a Peruvian citizen living in California. I will be traveling to India stopping in China

I will be stopping in Shanghai on my way to India for a wedding. If I wanted to see the city for a day, do I need a visa?

Jose, if your layover time in Shanghai is less than 24 hours in total, no entry permit is needed because you are eligible for the 24 hour direct transit. But if it’s more than 24 hours, you need to apply for a tourist L type or transit G type ahead of time.
