About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Visa - which one do i need

hi, I am planning a trip through Asia, I will start in Bali and will then travel to Myanmar. From here I will travel to Shanghai, but I will have a transit in Kunming.
I have 2 separate flight tickets booked, this could mean I would need to collect my luggage and check in again at Kunming to catch my flight to Shanghai Pudong airport. I'm planning to stay 03-07Aug and from here travel back to Amsterdam. What type of entry permit would I be needing?

Johan, you cannot enjoy the free transit in Shanghai because you will also stop in Kunming.
So you need to apply for a transit G type or tourist L type in advance.

If the Stop in Kunming will be skipped, would the 144hr free transit be an option?

If you travel to Myanmar from Bali via Shanghai and stop in Shanghai for less than 144 hours, you are able to make use of the 144 hour free transit in Shanghai.
