About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Transiting in Guangzhou want to visit Hong Kong

Howdy y'all!
I would like to travel from Guangzhou to HK and back to Guangzhou to continue on to Vancouver. Does the 72 hour transit visa cover this possibility?
