About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

On a cruise. VISA needed?

In Oct I will be arriving in Shanghai on a Celebrity Cruise ship from Japan. I will be in Shanghai for about 18 hours before travelling back to Japan to a different place. Do I need to buy an entry permit?

Judith, you need to apply for an entry permit in advance because you will go back to Japan after staying in Shanghai, it is not a transit.
