About:China Private Visit Visa

Can my Wife work with S1 visa?

Hi
I am heading to Shanghai for work with a Z type. My wife will be given an S1 type. My question is if she can work in Shanghai when we arrive there?

MK, no, she is not allowed to work with the S1 type. It is illegal.
If she wants to work in PRC, she needs to apply for a work Z type.

Thanks for the reply. Another question: When we arrive in PRC, if there is a job opening for her, can the employer obtain an employment licence for her so that she can apply for a Z visa?

If she finds a job after entering PRC, she can try to convert the S1 type to work Z type and then work in PRC.
