we are in beijing from 30th september leaving the 4th october, will it be very crowded?

Is it best on the 1st Oct to not try and go to attractions?  Or perhaps because it is National Holiday is it better to go to places such as the Great Wall on that day?

Actually, Sep. 30 to Oct. 4 is really not a good time to visit Beijing due to the crazy crowds. If you cannot change the schedule, you'd better avoid to visit attractions on the Oct. 1 or 2. It can be very crowded at any scenic areas. The number of visitors on Sep. 30, Oct. 3 and 4 can be less. If you want to visit Great Wall or other places of interests, you can do it on those days.
