can i get a china visa to shaghai on a connecting fight through hong kong

I am out of time for a Chinese entry permit to Shanghai on bussiness. I am connecting in Hong Kong then a flight to Shanghai. I have an invitation letter from the Chinese company, could I get the entry permit while on transit in Hong Kong??

Rodrigo, if your stay in Shanghai is less than 144 hours, and after that, you will fly to a third country or region rather than HK, you can enjoy the 144 hour free transit in Shanghai. If so, you don’t need to apply for a business M type.
