About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Japan to Korea

Can I fly from Japan to South Korea and use the free transit? I know it seems a bit silly since Korea is closer to Japan anyways so it's not a very good transfer, but it would be a way for me to see Beijing for a couple of days without paying for an expensive visa. I already have plans to go to Korea anyways.

Are you a japanese citizen?
Then you can visit PRC by using free transit.

Otherwise if you held the citizenship of one of the qualified countries, you can use the 72h twov if you fly Japan - Beijing - S.Korea (no need for a transit G type).
