Flying into Shanghai PVG Airport

Hello I am a UK citizen flying into Shanghai from London then boarding a cruise ship in 48 Hours from Shanghai, Do I need a visa to enter China ?

Jonathan, if the ship leaves directly for a third country or region, you can use the 144hr free transit policy and visa is not necessary.
