with criminal backgrounds, can one apply for a Spousal visa?

Are criminal backgrounds considered when someone applies for a spousal type? If so what type of things are looked for? Is it likely for someone to find work in PRC without a degree?

Kristina, if you have criminal backgrounds, especially if you have serious criminal records, it's possible that you application will be rejected. Besides, if you don't have a degree, it's not easy to find a job and not easy to get work visa.
