About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

does This apply if I go back to the origin country?

I want to spend the weekend in Shanghai, flying in from Singapore, staying less than 72 hours, then back again to Singapore where I have visa permit.. Am I eligible for it applied only to a third country?

Alessio, if you travel like that, you cannot enjoy the 72 hour free transit. After transiting in Shanghai for less than 72 hours, you should fly to a third country or region instead of the one you fly from.
