About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

UK citizen but born in North korea

Hello, my mum wants to go to Beijing first to see her friends and then fly to South Korea in 72 hours time. As she is a British, I am sure she will meet all the requirements but with the matter of where she is born, do you think she will be able to enter China without any problem? Thank you in advance.

Thanks for your reply Katy. The reason I worry is Chinese consulate in the UK doesn't issue entry permit for my mum. She has been waiting for it more than a month. Anyone can give me more advice on this situation please? Thank you.

Dear, as you said, your mother will travel like that: UK – Beijing (less than 72 hours)- South Korea, right? If yes and she holds UK passport, she can enjoy the 72 hour free transit in Beijing. In this case, no entry permit is required. She just needs to provide her passport, the onward ticket and valid entry permit to South Korea.
