About:Beijing Transportation Smart Card

I have not used my transportation card since 2012 when I was last in Beijing.

I will be returning later in 2016. Is my card still valid and only require a top up or will I need a new card?

Your card is still valid. However, you need to activate and top it up at Customer Service Centers, metro stations, CITIC Bank or Agricultural Bank of China first. Then it can be used normally.
