About:Chinese Consulate in Auckland

Do i need to apply for any visa or i can enjoy 24 hrs visa free policy?

Hi there
I have an indian passport and travelling to nz to thailand via Shanghai with 12 hrs layover and 8 hrs layover in shanghai on the way back from thailand to nz.

Brij, you don’t need to apply for any entry permit. You are eligible for the 24 hour direct transit for both legs of your journey.
