24 hour visit from hong kong to dongguan

Hi There,I plan to visit my Australian friend living in Hojie (Dongguan) for work, I will be flying into Hong Kong and departing from there 10 days later.My plans are to go straight from HK airport to meet him for 24 hours and then return to HK, do I need a visa and if so can this be purchased at the border control or immigration in Hong Kong?
